Demonstration of  Christmas Floral Displays 11th November

Dorothy Allen gave an inspiring demonstration by Zoom of how to make decorations
for front doors and lovely centrepiece for the Christmas lunch table.
(see the three examples above)

The members were inspired by her work and a competition of floral displays suitable for a Christmas lunch table with a Christmas theme will be held at the meeting on December 9th, 2020 Send a photo of your display to Moira before the meeting.

Virtual birthday party and Butterfly competion 14th Ocober, 2020

There were entries in the various media including a wonderfully carved pumpkin. The winner
was judged to be 'Psychedelic Butterfly' by Elaine Creen whch was also chosen to be the
design for the the Whittington W.I Christmas card.

Talk: Tea At Grandma's by Cath Reynolds

This was a Zoom meeting with a nostalgic presentation of long forgotten foods like tinned salmon and evaporated milk whch featured at tea parties in the fifties and sixties.

Anne Hiskins Garden - Meeting 12th Aug 2020
this was held in Anne Hiskin's garden on a wonderful
warm afternoon and was first time members had been able
to get together since the March lockdown.

Our Hanging Basket workshop was held at Fisherwick Nursery.Tracey was very good at showing us how to assemble a hanging basket and when finished they were stuffed full of all kinds of plants.

The Bowls taster day at Tamworth Indoor Bowls Club, we had a fun day and one or two proved that they could actually play!

Whittington WI Darts Team

Our darts team have won their home leg of the quarter finals against Norbury. The result of the away leg will then decide who goes through to the semi finals. GOOD LUCK TO WHITTINGTON.

October 2014 saw our 98th Birthday celebrations, we had a very enjoyable evening complete with American supper and birthday cake !

Craft Dabble Day

A craft dabble Day was held on Saturday 11th October. We tried different crafts including crotchets, making small owls, making boxes and fancy bows, serviette decoupage and encaustic art. we were very pleased to welcome one very brave gentleman who had a go at crotchet and sewing a small owl. a very full day to get round everything on offer and we all had some nice things to take home.
